Read Aloud Model for Thursday, July 14th

Here are the handouts you will need for Thursday's Read Aloud Model.

Click here to download them. Print all of the Read Aloud Model documents. This is 3 pages. You do not need to print the standards. We are going to go over them, but you do not need to print them.

As I outlined on the syllabus, here are the requirements for the read aloud:

1. Give a warm up or do now that activates prior knowledge.
2. Include a measurable lesson objective.
3. Use ONE reading skill or strategy in the lesson objective.
4. Include a review of the skill or strategy written in student friendly language.
5. Include text questions that relate to the objective and strategy being taught.
6. Ask approximately 1 question per paragraph or page.
7. Use the appropriate number of pages for the selected age group.
8. Use a book appropriate for the age group.
9. Includes a summary to the lesson.

All of these elements are in my lesson plan, and we will spend Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday going over this in class.

Happy Trails.

Anne
